Although it is not evident, with a bit of digging, there are some clear Christian undertones in Disney's The Little Mermaid. From Ariel's father being God, to a Witch that mirrors the Devil and to Ariel herself being a maritime Eve. We may never know if these relations were intentional or not, but after some examination there is no denying that they are there. From the Forbidden Fruit to the Human World, Christianity is certainly present upon taking a closer look. Disney and Christianity are two completely different realms, but when looking at them from a religious academic perspective, it really makes one ask themselves the question, Part of What World?
